Bio: Soundtrack Of A Photograph will explore my two passions- Photography and Music. What if a photograph had a song to go with it? The idea is to pair a song with a still photograph of mine and write about the connection between the two. Listening to, and collecting as much music as I do, I have no shortage of both photographs and songs to choose from in creating Soundtrack Of A Photograph. I look forward to this project continuing for a long time. In my spare time when I am not listening to music, I enjoy walking around New York City with my wife with my camera in hand, exploring new neighborhoods and taking lots of photographs. 1. Hi Robert! I recently saw your post on the Community Pool, so I decided to give your blog a visit! It’s really nice, and I love the quality photos. But regarding your question about the series you’ve recently made (which is interesting, by the way), I do think you should space your posts out. Maybe for your next series, you should post each part once a week. And in between those posts write shorter posts about music or whatever interests you, as breathers for your readers. All your posts are lengthy and are quality posts, but sometimes that may be overwhelming for readers (especially for those that follow a lot of other great blogs as well). Honestly, I’m a new blogger, but I’ve been reading more than I’ve been blogging. Hopefully it helped! ^.^

    1. Thank you. That is good advice and is something I have been thinking about doing. For the moment I have to stop blogging (lot of stuff going on) but hope to resume in a month or so. Thanks for taking the time to comment, and I will make sure to follow yours as well. Thanks again ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks. I think I am done with doing series for now. My question was in case I ever do another series. Though my blogs are longer, I generally only do them once a month, so I thought this would be an interesting experience for my established readers. It helped, and the thing I learned is to experiment…with everything. I use different social media in different ways, I have experimented with what day, and what time of day catch people’s eyes the most, With layouts and sizes of photos, with the number of tags used. It is exhausting at times, but it never dampens my spirit of it being fun, at least for me.

      1. That explains the quality writing! I always find that spacing out your posts enables you to write more eloquently. And wow, that’s amazing! You’re pretty much an expert on how to tackle this blogging then, or at least know how to approach in getting your audience and reader’s attention. It’s inspiring to find bloggers like you that put so much effort and thought in their posts. I’ll make sure to continue reading your future posts (even if it’s not a part of series)! Hopefully, you’ll find the time again to start those up some day. And thank you for visiting my blog, Robert!

      1. Thanks for the like on the new blog! I have not forgotten about this, but time has been at a premium lately. I was lucky to have gotten this newest one out. I hope to be able to commit to this in about 2 weeks after a work project is finished. Thanks for the support!

      2. You’re welcome! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m so glad you put a new post out (and congrats to you and your family for moving), it was different compared to the last series but still really interesting. And take your time with the award!

  3. Ah, you went for Hemingway Rewritten! I always find it such a great theme for laying out everything clearly – text and pictures. Hemingway would surely have approved! Love the header image. Will go through the others as well.

    1. Thank you. I’m impressed you know your themes. I should have done this a long time ago. Hemingway is close to what I had, but I wanted a header to show off my marquee image (I have it on business cards and as my Facebook and Twitter pages for the blog after all!). I like the bolder text and chose a color scheme I think is easy on the eyes. Appreciate the comments and the blog friendship ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. I know this theme because I have been using it for over a year! I don’t remember the name of my first theme, but I moved on to Hemingway pretty quickly when I discovered it. Since then, I made little changes to it. Mine being a very wordy blog, I decided to keep it white and minimal. Images show up nicely on it too. Even if I upgrade to paid features in future on my blog, I don’t think I am likely to change my theme, as I feel it suits what I do perfectly.

      2. My blog is wordy too, but I guess I liked the header above all. Been so long now, but I swear when I started with the Superhero theme it had a large header on it too…or maybe I dreamed it! Thanks for the support and information once again!

  4. Beautiful blog!
    In fact, it’s almost picturesque.
    You have a great eye.
I love the theme colours as they provide a calm and yet, vibrant feel without distracting from the content.
As far as the content goes, I must admit to being ignorant. I do not know anything about photography and prefer audiobooks to music so I really must not comment on that.
All in all, it was a pleasure to be here.

    1. Aww thank you so much! I have written about a lot of folk, soul, country, rock, with bits of jazz, classical and world music thrown in, so hopefully you enjoy some of those ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks very much for the follow!

  7. Hello Robert. I remember you from Blogging 201. I belatedly stepped into your blog and enjoyed my visit. I have never been to the Celtic countries you write about (maybe someday), but I enjoy the music, the bagpipes, and the views of the countryside that I have seen on numerous blogs. You have an excellent blog here. I also rather envy your opportunities to walk around NYC with your camera. What opportunities you must have to stir your creativity.

    1. Thanks so much! I remember you from 201 as well. Thanks so much for stopping by. I’ll check yours out in detail as well when I can. You should if you can go to any of those areas. Great photographic opportunities. Many thanks on the compliments. It has evolved like most people’s blogs have, but it is more fun doing these now than ever before. NYC is great for photography but at times I do wish I had better access to nature. Thanks once again!

  9. Hi

I have nominated your blog for the Liebster Award. Not sure if you are aware of this Award. It is to recognise and promote new up and coming blogs of a good standard with less than 200 followers.

If you visit my post in the link it explains about it and you will see where I have listed you as a nominee – https://cultivatingtime.wordpress.com/2015/12/07/im-starring-in-orphan-black-its-going-to-be-fun/

I look forward to seeing your post.

    All the best from Debra
